Bogotá is the capital of Colombia and has a population of approximately 7 million. It is the third highest capital in the world, resting at an average of 2640 meters above sea level. It has a cobblestone centre with landmarks from the colonial-area, stretching back to the 17th century.
It is considered to be Colombia's economic engine, with an increasing amount of international companies and foreign trade. The currency used is the Colombian Peso and unlike other South American countries, they don’t accept US Dollars. There are plenty of big international companies with offices in Bogotá including IBM, Amazon, Accenture and Deloitte, making it a great city for developing a career.
The climate in Bogotá is of oceanic, subtropical nature, usually with long dry summers and mild winters. Other things to expect is great & inexpensive food, friendly people & loads of live music! Expats who are working in Bogotá are coming from all over the world and the interest is growing.
