Loviisa is a municipality of 14,873 inhabitants on the southern coast of Finland. About 43% of the population is Swedish-speaking and more than half of the area of ​​the municipality is covered by water, which makes the nature of the region very beautiful. Loviisa is very close to Finland's economic growth zone, which is on the outskirts of the capital. The journey to Helsinki takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, and to Kotka about 30 minutes.
The Loviisa region is home to two of the largest nuclear power plants. There is also a port and an industrial zone where several companies are located. Tourism is an important part of the local economy as Loviisa is home to some of Finland's oldest wooden buildings and offers the opportunity to visit the old town, which survived a fire in the 19th century.
