Nicosia, or Lefkosia in Greek, is the capital of the Republic of Cyprus (south) and Turkish Republic of Nothern Cyprus (north). It is the only divided capital left in the world. It is centrally located on the island and is also the most populated city with approximately 300,000 inhabitants.
Nicosia is furthermore one of the oldest cities in the Europe and has been ruled by several different kingdoms from different areas, something you will notice on architecture. One can simply cross the border in the city to experience both Christian and Muslim culture.
On Cyprus the official languages are Greek and Turkish however English is widely spoken due to it being a British colony in the past. Cyprus is also a member of the EU. Working in Nicosia is hence a perfect opportunity for you who want the European influences with a Middle Eastern touch.
