
Cape Town was the first European settlement in South Africa and is therefore sometimes referred to as the “Mother city”. It is a beautiful seaport city that is the capital of South Africa and has an approximate population of 4.6 million people.
Working in Cape Town is popular due to a number of reasons. With its warm climate, multicultural environment and unique lifestyle, the city is suitable for people from all walks of life. In recent years the city has been advancing within technology and is sometimes also referred to as Africa’s answer to Silicon Valley.
There are eleven official languages in South Africa, however the most commonly spoken in Cape Town are English, Afrikaans and Xhosa. Afrikaans is the most widely spoken with about 40% of the populace speaking it. The currency in South Africa is called “rand”, ZAR for short.
